The pop star referred to Harris as “a steady-handed, gifted leader” in her recent endorsement announcement.

Donald Trump appears unable to move past feelings toward Taylor Swift.

On Sunday, September 15, the 78-year-old Republican presidential candidate took to his social media platform, Truth Social to express his reaction to Swift’s endorsement of Vice President Kamala Harris in the upcoming presidential race.

“I HATE TAYLOR SWIFT!” Trump declared in a post.

Swift, 34, officially backed Harris, 59, on Instagram on Tuesday, September 10, soon after Harris and Trump completed their initial debate.

“Like many of you, I watched the debate tonight,” she wrote in her post’s caption, alongside a picture of herself with a cat. “If you haven’t already, now is a perfect time to research the issues at stake and the positions these candidates take on subjects that matter to you. As a voter, I strive to consume as much information as possible about their policies and plans for our country.”

After highlighting the fake A.I. images used by Trump’s campaign to falsely present her endorsement, Swift stated, “I will be casting my vote for Kamala Harris and Tim Walz in the 2024 Presidential Election. I’m supporting @kamalaharris because she advocates for the rights and causes that I believe require a champion.”

She praised Harris as “a steady-handed, gifted leader” and expressed, “I think our country can achieve so much more if we are guided by calm rather than chaos.” Additionally, she commended Harris’ running mate, Tim Walz, for “advocating for LGBTQ+ rights, IVF, and a woman’s right to choose for decades.”

Swift went on, “I’ve done my research, and I’ve made my choice. The research is yours to conduct, and the decision is yours to make. I want to emphasize, especially to first-time voters: Remember that you need to be registered to vote! Also, I’ve found that voting early is much simpler. I’ll post links for registration and early voting details in my story.”

The pop singer concluded her message by referring to herself as a “Childless Cat Lady,” a nod to the derogatory remarks made by Trump’s running mate, J.D. Vance, in 2021.

Trump reacted to Swift’s endorsement the next day during an interview with Fox & Friends.

“I was never a fan of Taylor Swift,” he commented on the show. “It was just a matter of time. … But she’s quite a liberal individual. She always seems to endorse Democrats. There’s a good chance she’ll face repercussions for that in the marketplace.”

Days later, the Democratic National Committee (DNC) unveiled a series of clever campaign billboards in New York City and Las Vegas featuring the slogan “We’re in our Kamala era,” aligning with Swift’s record-breaking Eras Tour.

These billboards incorporated the line from Swift’s hit song “… Ready for It” from her 2017 Reputation album, with “A New Way Forward… Ready for It?” added.

Meanwhile, Trump has continued to utilize Swift’s image for his campaign, as his team recently shared a post on X (formerly Twitter) that read, “Calling all Swifties for Trump,” accompanied by a photo and a link to purchase a Trump Era T-shirt.
